St Werburgh Delight
We found that a Minor Method had been named St Werburgh Delight some years ago,
but not by our band.
We though we would give it a try, and in 1992, we rang it to a Quarter Peal for
our Patronal Festival. The Blue Line for it is shown below.
It's not too bad to ring, being London above and places or dodging below.
When we augmented to eight bells, we got a line from the Central Council Methods Committee for
a Major extension to it.
We tried to ring it a few years ago for our Patronal Festival. A band was selected
and given a chance to learn the method.
However, it was found to be somewhat tricky and the furthest we got in three or
four attempts was a Plain Course. The attempt was abandoned. A notable ringer was
heard to say that "There are no signposts in this method. If you fall off the
line there's no way back on".
As yet, there are no plans for another attempt.
The Pictures containing the methods were generated via the Visual Method Archive.
